Our mission
To develop responsible individuals who are equipped to participate in and contribute meaningfully to the society and the wider world in which they live.
Our school opened with 126 female students in 2004. We have since expanded to over 550.
Although we are primarily a girls-only school, in recent years we have accepted the brothers of some of our girls at the request of the families, but only at the pre-primary and lower primary grades. We are committed to remaining girls-only at the upper-primary and secondary grades, the levels at which girls tend to find the presence of boys inhibiting.
Our fundamental principle is that poverty will never be an obstacle for any child to join us. We have children who receive all of their education, books and uniform for free, while some middle-class parents pay a modest fee. Our scholarship students are supported by many generous individuals through monthly contributions.
Our primary goal is to allow girls the opportunity for self-development. In India, girls have less freedom to express themselves, so we strive to provide a broad range of experiences. Our girls play sports such as Taekwondo, volleyball, athletics, and hand ball. We hold daily yoga classes and our children perform dance, singing and drama. We have started to offer regular music classes and we always emphasise drawing and artistry.
We provide the full national curriculum, and at the senior secondary level – when students are expected to specialise – we focus on the sciences. Many of our girls have scored at the highest levels in their school examinations.
